06/25/2008: Medevac After Accident In Lindenhurst

LINDENHURST, NY – Earlier this afternoon (Wednesday, June 25, 2008) the Lindenhurst Fire Department responded to a motor at the corner of Sunrise Highway and Straight Path. The accident occurred in the eastbound lanes just east of Straight Path and involved a motorcycle versus car.

As first responding chiefs and police officers arrived on scene, they requested a rush on the ambulance as well as an availability check on aviation. Aviation was available and responded to the scene; landing on Sunrise Highway east of the accident. The flight medic evaluated the patient and made the decision to transport the motorcyclist to Stony Brook Hospital via the chopper.
