06/25/2008: Overturned Dump Truck In North Babylon

DEER PARK, NY – A dump truck carrying dirt and rocks flipped onto it’s side this afternoon (Wednesday, June 25, 2008) in Deer Park. The dump truck was traveling down Bay Shore Road when it went to make a turn onto Carlls Path. According to personnel on scene, as the truck was turning there was a blow out causing the truck to become unstable turning onto its side, spilling its contents on the front lawn of a private home.

There were no injuries reported when police first arrived and the driver was self-extricated. A few minutes later the driver was reported to have a severe headache and was transported to the hospital via an ambulance. The Fire Department was on scene for a fuel spill but after that was cleaned up they were released from the scene. Police remained on scene however with the road closed until the spill could be cleaned up.
