MASSAPEQUA, NY (Monday, October 1, 2007) - Around 2:55 p.m. today a teenage child, riding his bicycle, was struck by a car in front of the Mid County Collision body shop located at 59 Brooklyn Avenue in Massapequa. Employees of Mid County Collision stated they heard the crash and rushed outside to help. One woman held the child in her arms while EMS responded in. She stated the child did not appear to be in good condition. Aviation was requested to fly in originally but due to the traumatic injuries the child suffered he was transported to a local hospital. Nassau County Police closed off Brooklyn Avenue between Hicksville Road and Forest Avenue awhile an accident investigation took place. This photo shows a NCPD officer standing next to the vehicle which struck the child. Also shown are some of the child's clothes to the left of the vehicle.
