BABYLON, NY – On Monday, November 05, 2007 at around 7:30 p.m. the West Babylon Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving an overturned auto at the intersection of Route 109 and Little East Neck Road. As units began arriving on scene Babylon Central Fire Alarm was updated with a correct location of the incident; Little East Neck Road and Trolley Line Road. Since this accident was located in Babylon town, Babylon FD was toned out for one ambulance to the scene.
Along with Babylon and West Babylon personnel, Suffolk County Police were also on scene along with their ESU truck in a matter of minutes. Upon arrival responders learned there were no occupants trapped. The accident involved two vehicles; a Jeep Patriot and a Honda Civic sustained heavy front end damage while the Jeep Patriot appeared to have been hit from the front passenger side. It then rolled onto it’s roof along the railroad overpass.
The occupants of both vehicles were transported to a local hospital while fire/police services remained on scene to secure the vehicles and cleanup the roadway. It is currently unknown what the exact cause of the accident was.
