11/05/2007: Car Strikes Building In Levittown
LEVITTOWN, NY – Around 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 05, 2007 the Levittown Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident involving a car that drove into the front of a building. The accident happened at 3259 Hempstead Avenue, which was the home of Danny’s Bicycle Center (the business was no longer there and the store was empty).
An elderly woman somehow lost control of her Honda Civic and drove into the front of the store. Thankfully she was only shaken up from the incident and had no injuries. She did some minor damage to the front of the store, damaging the front door, some windows and some window framing. Her vehicle suffered some minor damage to the front bumper and hood.
Due to no major structural damage or injuries, fire department personnel were returned to service while Nassau County Police along with two Levittown fire chief’s remained on scene.
