11/30/2007: Truck Vs Pole In South Farmingdale

SOUTH FARMINGDALE, NY – At around 2:48 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2007 the South Farmingdale Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Merrits Road and Clifford Drive. Upon arrival by South Farmingdale Chief’s it was found that a landscaping truck and a Jeep had crashed with the landscaping truck crashing into a utility pole breaking it in half.

South Farmingdale FD responded in with Heavy Rescue Truck 979, Engine 971 and an ambulance. No injuries were reported thankfully although utilities were requested to the scene forthwith as the chief had half a utility pole hanging from the wires above with power outages in the area.
