02/11/2007: Babylon Chimney Fire
BABYLON, NY - On the evening of Sunday, February, 11, 2007 the Babylon Fire Department was toned out for a possible chimney fire. Multiple people called in stating they saw flames coming from a chimney somewhere on Annuskemunnica Road. Callers could see flames from Fire Island Avenue, which is across the canal behind Annuskemunnica Road.
Upon arrival Babylon Chiefs put out a 13/35 (Working Fire) for 135 Annuskemunnica Road. BFD Chief's 1-2-30, 1-2-31 and 1-2-33 were on scene.
Multiple lines were stretched to the rear of the house as well as through the front door inside the house. Tower Ladder 1-2-8 assessed the structure from the roof and investigated for fire extension.
Although there were no injuries, EMS members stood by just in case.
Other units on scene include: 1-2-1, 1-2-3, 1-2-4, 1-2-6, 1-2-7, 1-2-10 and 1-2-11.
