03/31/2007: Deer Park Commercial Building Fire

DEER PARK, NY – At around 4:30pm on Saturday, March 31, 2007 the Deer Park Fire Department was toned out for a fire at Charng Ying Kitchens located at 522 Commack Road. Numerous calls were coming in to Babylon Central Fire Alarm. Within minutes units were updated with a status from volunteers already on scene indicating there was heavy smoke showing and a 13/35 (working fire) was transmitted.

R.I.T. was immediately requested from Brentwood, Dix Hills and North Babylon. Along with Deer Park’s tower ladder, Dix Hills and North Babylon also provided tower ladders.

Crews were able to bring the fire under control within the hour. It is unknown at this time what the cause of the fire was.
